Performing the Future: Institutions and Politics of Memory This collection of papers, born out of the 33rd SIBMAS conference at the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw 2022, explores the intersection of institutions, memory, and the performing arts and how politics of memory shape the preservation of performing arts heritage. Experts from around the world discuss the central role collections and cultural programming play in shaping collective memory. Since 1954, SIBMAS has been the international network supporting the preservation of performing arts heritage. With members in 35 countries, SIBMAS unites individuals and institutions working to safeguard traditions in circus, dance, opera, theatre, and puppetry.
